How to Delete Your Social Media Account and Data from Vistasolve

This guide explains how to permanently remove a connected social media account (or just disconnect it) from your Vistasolve workspace, and what happens to your data at each step.

Before You Delete

  1. Download or note any data you want to keep. Scheduled posts, queue items, or analytics tied to the account may be lost or orphaned.
  2. Publish or reschedule pending drafts. If a post is only in draft or scheduled state inside Vistasolve and not yet live on the platform, it will not travel with the deletion — it may be permanently lost.
  3. Remember: posts already published to the social platform are NOT removed by deleting your Vistasolve account. A post that went live on Facebook or Instagram stays on that platform. You must delete those posts separately on each platform if you also want them gone.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Open the Accounts / Channels page

  1. Sign in to Vistasolve.
  2. Ensure you are in the right workspace that you had previously connected your account. You can always use the workspace switcher to swith to the right workspace.
  3. In the dashboard sidebar, navigate to Social Manager → Channels.
This page lists every Channel/Account/Page connected to this workspace.

2. Locate the account you want to remove

Each Card listed shows:

  • The platform icon and channel or account name.
  • At the bottom of each card there is a Settings button.
  • Click on the ⚙️ Settings button.
  • The button will open a side panel with action buttons: Disable, Disconnect.
  • Click on the Disconnect to first disconnect the page before deleting it.
  • Once the account or channel is disconnected, it will display a Delete button.
  • Click on the Delete button
  • In the Dialog that shows up, confirm delete.

Your page or account will be completely removed from Vistasolve and all its associated data. Note that if the page was the last one of its primary account, the account will be deleted as well. For example, you can have one Facebook account with two pages. Deleting all the two pages also deletes the account details.

3. Choosing the Right Action

Option A — Disconnect / Revoke (sever platform access)

Use this if you want Vistasolve to stop being able to publish to that account, but you may reconnect later.

  1. Click Disconnect on the account row.
  2. A confirmation dialog appears:"Revoke access for {account name}? This will disconnect the OAuth connection and invalidate the saved token. You can reconnect this account later, but pending scheduled posts to this channel will be skipped."
  3. Click the second Disconnect to confirm.

What happens behind the scenes:

  • The disconnected account can longer communicate with the platform as it looses the access token that gives it the permission to communicate with the third party platform.
  • Vistasolve marks the SocialAccount and its ManagedChannel(s) as revoked.
  • Any pending tasks that reference this account will surface a platform-refusal error ("token invalid") rather than silently failing.

After disconnecting:

  • The account no longer appears in the publishing target list.
  • Existing posts that were already published to the platform remain visible in Vistasolve (with read-only metadata).
  • If you reconnect the same account later, Vistasolve treats it as a new connection — old analytics linkage is not restored.

Option B — Disable (temporarily turn off a channel)

Use this if you just want to stop a channel from appearing as a publishing target for now.

  1. Click Disable on the specific channel row (not the account row).
  2. Confirm:"Disable {channel name}? It will no longer appear as a publishing target, but the connection and token remain available."
  3. Click Disable.

What happens behind the scenes:

  • The chann.
  • The channel or the account cannot receive or process new posts, messages, or comments. Pending scheduled tasks that were scheduled before will be published.

After disabling:

  • Re-enable by clicking Enable on the same row.
  • No data is lost.

Option C — Delete Account (permanent)

Use this only if you are sure you never want this account in Vistasolve again. This cannot be undone. Follow the instructions mentioned above for permanent deletion.

What happens behind the scenes:

  • The Account records and all the details are completed deleted from the database.
  • Any draft or scheduled posts whose only target was this account are removed (they have nowhere else to go).
  • Analytics snapshots tied to the deleted channel may be purged per retention policy.

After deletion:

  • The account is gone from the list.
  • It will not reappear until you manually reconnect it via the OAuth flow.
